ABOUT AUTHOR

Granville Oral Roberts was born into an impoverished family in Oklahoma on the 24th of January, 1918 to Reverend Melvin and Claudia Roberts. He was once a student at Phillips University and Oklahoma Baptist University. Oral Roberts was mainly known for his powerful healing ministry. But before then, he had ministered in the Pentecostal Holiness Church as a pastor.

It was recorded that at age 29, one day Roberts opened his Bible to read 3 John verse 2, and the next day, he had an encounter with God, directing him to heal the sick. And so he resigned from the Pentecostal Holiness Church and founded Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association (OREA) in 1947. He is considered the godfather of the charismatic movement and was one of the most recognized preachers in the US at the height of his fame.  On the 15th of December, 2009, he died due to complications of pneumonia. His wife, Evelyn, died on the 4th of May 2005.
