Pastor Nkechi Ene Passes On to Glory – The Carpenter’s Church Confirms Her Transition to Be with the Lord

Celebrating a Life — Remembrance of Pastor Nkechi Ene

It is with deep sorrow, yet abiding hope, that we mark the passage of a remarkable servant of God. “Pastor Nkechi Ene passes on to glory. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing into glory of God’s servant, our presiding pastor, our mother-in-Israel, Pastor Nkechi Ene, on Wednesday, 29th October 2025.”

Her final journey came soon after returning to Nigeria, following what had been described as a “successful and extensive ministry trip, marked by miracles and testimonies.” On her arrival she “experienced a sudden health crisis while in Lagos.”

In this moment of grief and reflection, the church family faithfully grounds itself in divine truth:

“As our hearts hurt and questions assail our minds while we process this shocking news we rest assured in the unwavering truth that God is the good God and His mercies endure forever. He is always faithful.”

For Pastor Nkechi, this was not only a walk of faith but a life lived in service. The statement continues:

“Our pastor was a woman of great faith, who lived, and believed the Word of God till the very end. She gave her life in service of God and His people. She has now heard the words from her Master, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant’.”

A Legacy of Excellence and Service

From her early academic achievement — earning a **First Class Honours Degree in Electronics Engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka — to her full-time ministry calling, Pastor Ene embodied dedication and excellence.
She served as Associate Pastor under Pastor Charles Omofomah until his passing in 2013, then became Presiding Pastor of The Carpenter’s Church in Port Harcourt.
She also hosted the programme FreshDew and authored several books, teaching with clarity and grace.

Words of Comfort and the Call to Community

The message further appeals to the church family:

“As a church family… we acknowledge that this is a very challenging time for us. At times like these, what we should do is to embrace, comfort, and encourage one another—starting with our Pastor’s family.”

It specifically mentions her husband, Emeka Ene, and daughters Zoe, Chloe, Tracy and Osi.

“Let us overwhelm with our love, comfort, and prayers…”

It also entrusts the congregation into the care of the Holy Spirit:

“As a church, we look up to, and lean on the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, to comfort and strengthen us.”

A Life Celebrated, A Legacy Enduring

Though her physical presence is absent, the statement reminds believers:

“Despite the void of her departure, we are grateful to God for an excellent and productive life well lived. We honour and celebrate one of the great generals of God in our generation…”

It affirms that her impact and legacy will continue:

“Though now absent from us, her impact and legacy endure in our hearts and in our lives.”

And the closing lines echo the heart of faith:

“The Lord is good and His mercies endure forever. We celebrate God’s general, our -mother-in Israel, Pastor Mrs. Nkechinyere Ene… We thank God for her life and exploits in the body of Christ. Praise God! Praise God! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!! He is faithful.”

    Reflection for Us

Pastor Ene’s life reminds us of several spiritual truths:

    1. The endurance of faith: she believed “the Word of God till the very end.”
    2. Service as vocation: she traded an engineering career for full-time ministry, exemplifying sacrifice and commitment.
    3. Legacy is not just built on titles but on lived example: teaching, serving, loving, and leading according to the Word. Grief finds its anchor in hope: though we mourn, we trust that “to be with Christ is far better.”

    Closing Prayer & Invitation

Let us join together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the life of Pastor Nkechi Ene. We honour her faith, her service, and the love she sowed in the body of Christ. As we mourn her passing, we choose to celebrate her victory — for she has “gone to be with Christ.” We pray for her husband, daughters, mother and all family members: may Your comfort, peace and strength surround them. As a church family, enable us to carry the torch she held so high and continue the work she loved. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
