ANCHORED SCRIPTURES: PSALMS 144:1, DEUTERONOMY 32:11-12
MINISTER: DR. DANIEL OLUKOYA (G.O MFM WORLDWIDE)

MESSAGE:

Those of you who were here last week will recall that I was explaining to you that God has a training school and God will like all of us to be trained in the school of the Almighty.

I began to explain to us that what God wants us to become is to become God’s eagle men and women and we started to look at the various types of eagles that are available (Isaiah 40:31).

I started to explain that the first kind of eagle is the PLEASURE EAGLE. It just lazes around and does very little for the Lord.

The second kind of eagle is the SHOW EAGLE. It just displays and lives a show glass life. But the third kind of eagle (that the Lord wants us to become) is the WORK EAGLE; those who work.

It is sad but it is true that just about 15% of the church members belong to these work eagles. Only 15% roll up their sleeves and work for the things of God. Only about 15% are dependable and reliable for God.

Work eagles are those people who when trained for a specific task, do it well. You can always count on those who are God’s eagles. Such people find great satisfaction working for their Master. They are not comfortable coming to the house of God and just sit around and do nothing.

God’s Training School (Part 2) By Dr. D.K Olukoya

They do not like coming to church and just going home like that. They are not happy unless they are working for Jesus.

It is such work eagles who at the end, will hear the voice of the Master in Matthew 25:23. They are the ones who will hear this voice.

This is where we have to be very careful. Each of us on earth has a fixed amount of time. The hours, minutes, seconds are counted by God. This is a very serious situation.

During funerals, they mention what people have done. “This man was the president of ‘shine your light association’.” “This person was the patron of ‘Red Cross’.” “This man was a lover of sports. This is a great man”. They praise people during funerals and during services of songs for the dead like that.

But in most cases, there is very little said about their spiritual lives. What a loss, when all they are saying about you is worldly achievements.

You must be a work eagle. Whether you are working on the scene or you are not working on the scene is not what we are talking about now. Whether you are behind the scene is not the issue now. God sees everything you do, and you must work, whether people see you or they do not.

God’s Training School (Part 2) By Dr. D.K Olukoya

The work eagles in the church do all the hard work. Those who are not working eagles just come to church to pray, sing and go home. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

So, mounting up with wings is for those who wait upon the Lord. They have the wings to fly above the mountains. So, no mountain is a problem for these work eagles.

ALSO, CHECK MFM Daily Devotional 15 May 2021 (PMCH)

So, it could be the tallest tree on the highest mountain: that is where they stay. No ordinary hunter can get the eagle. Rivers, storms, clouds, rain are no problems for the eagle.

==> I pray for you this evening, may you become an eagle Christian. May you become God’s eagle man and woman in Jesus’ name!

So, that is why the Lord used an eagle as an example of what He wants us to be.
An eagle lives for an average of 120 years. An eagle is one of the largest birds. It has unusual strength. Although it weighs about 4 kilograms, it can carry a load of about 20 kilograms.

God’s Training School (Part 2) By Dr. D.K Olukoya

When the eagles are hungry, they do not cry, unlike other birds that cry when they are hungry. The eagle can get up to 300,000 feet above the ground. They fly above the rain and the storm.

They are one of the few birds that fly towards the sun, no matter how hot the sun is. The eagle has uncommon sharp eyesight and has a keen ability to watch and to observe.

Eagles are aggressive warriors. They seize live animals and tear them to pieces. No matter the harsh condition, they will survive. They can survive days without food. And they are tactical in their warfare.

The eagle is a tactical striker. The eagle also is a trainer. She trains her young. The eagle will choose a single mate, not like cocks or dogs. Just one single partner all their lives.

Will you be an eagle of God or do you just want to be approaching church and just playing games with God? (Deuteronomy 32:11-12).

So God is interested in making us eagle Christians like that. If you really want God to use you, these are the kinds of messages you should listen to now.

The eagle is the birds God is using to demonstrate the kind of spiritual life He wants us to live. But sadly, a lot of Christians are playing games with God. One day hot, one day cold. One day on fire, one day out of the fire. And so they can not do what the Lord wants them to do.

Many although they are adults, still behave like children. You behave externally like an adult but inwardly, spiritually, the person is a baby.

God’s Training School (Part 2) By Dr. D.K Olukoya

Paul said, “when I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought like a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

Do you want to be a student in the school of God’s training? The first thing is to put away childish things. Paul got to a place where he noticed he was becoming childish. So he stopped acting childishly and he grew up.

Many Bible characters played games with God. God called Moses. Moses said “yes Lord, but I am not able to do this work. Lord, I am inferior. I am afraid. I have this problem, I have that problem.” Moses gave 11 excuses about why he would not work. But one thing about God is that God does not welcome excuses.

God wants us to perform the task He has asked us to perform. We need to grow up and stop being childish. Adam also played games with God. He played the oldest game of history which is blame-shifting. “If you did not cause this, I would be this”. “If I was born in a different family, I would be this.” “If God had given me a different husband, I would be this”.

God’s Training School (Part 2) By Dr. D.K Olukoya

No one grows spiritually until they learn to accept responsibilities for their actions. Not accepting responsibility for your actions is childish.

  • Cain knew what offering God wanted. He decided to bring the wrong one. Just playing games with God.
  • Jonah was a grown-up man, a prophet. He was in a ship trying to hide away from God. He was playing games with God.
  • Peter even played games a little bit, until he came to his senses.

==> I want to pray for somebody here today that may the Lord convert you to His champion, make you an eagle in the marketplace, an eagle wherever you go in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

In the training school of the Almighty, qualification number one is to put away childish things and grow up. Become mature!

One of the greatest signs of maturity is patience. Once you find impatience in your life, always in a hurry to get everything done, you are still a child.

If you are concerned about somebody talking against you, someone was just insulting you directly to your face and you are losing your temper and fighting, it is childishness.

Somebody who comes to the house of God and refuses to participate in anything that would move the purposes of God forward is childish.

Make up your mind. Paul said “when I was a child, I thought as a child. But when I became an adult, I put away childish things.”

==> May the Lord make you an eagle in the name of Jesus!
