THE EFFECTIVE KINGDOM SERVICE

PROV. 4 7 – Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

– Knowledge is Information, Understanding is Comprehension, and WISDOM Is Application. JOSHUA 1: 8

WHAT IS KINGDOM SERVICE?

Kingdom service is making yourself available, useful and responsible for the advancement of God’s kingdom. Any act of service that is geared towards the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

A Kingdom Steward is one who makes himself or herself available, useful and responsible for the advancement of God’s kingdom

Be It Physical (Acts Of Service) Or Spiritual (Kingdom Advancement Prayer), It’s all for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. “ LUKE 2 37 37and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshipped night and day, fasting and praying. 

As A Foundation, Let’s Highlight the Blessings of Kingdom Service as

1. Divine Health
2. Prosperity
3. Longevity
4. Promotion
5. Favour
6. Distinction and so on

So Today, we will discuss the EFFECTIVE KINGDOM STEWARD

We are going to Mirror our service with respect to the will and tenets of God’s WORD.

WHAT IS EFFECTIVE KINGDOM SERVICE?

MAL 3: 17 – 18 “They will be Mine,” says the LORD of Hosts, “on the day when I prepare My treasured possession. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him. 18 So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.

There are two points we must note about KINGDOM SERVICE.

1. SERVICE IS A CHOICE: JOSHUA 24:15 ¹⁵ And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
2. SERVICE IS A COVENANT RESPONSIBILITY: PS 22: 30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. We are the seeds of Abraham and If you are born again Serving God is Your Responsibility and if you do this you are qualified for the blessings that follow.

With this knowledge, let us look at

THE CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EFFECTIVE KINGDOM STEWARD

1. GOD SEEKER/ KINGDOM MINDED: MATT”6: 33. Let Me Show You How To Do This – PS 132”3-5 ESV “I will not enter my house or get into my bed, I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.

   On the Go for God, Zealous about the things of God PS 69: 9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up

2. INTERCESSOR: The Intercessory Unit is not just a departmental unit, it is a fundamental Unit. ACTS 1: ¹³ And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. ¹⁴ These all continued with one ^[a]accord in prayer ^[b]and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
   The upper room is a place of encounter, A place of Prayer. Daniel Prayed in the Upper room DANIEL 6: 10

3. SELFLESS: (TIME, STRENGTH, MONEY, REPUTATION,): This is where a lot of us miss it, the reason we are committed and devoted to Kingdom service is Ourselves. TIME IS ONE OF THE GREATEST INVESTMENT – TIME is a Test of Devotion, You can Determine How Much commitment and devotion a man has by the number of time he gives to it. Some of us when the service exceeds the normal time we are Off.
   God is Eternal, When He wants to reward you he collapses Time. No time in God’s presence is a waste. MATT; 20: 7-15.
   COMFORT is the temptation of Devotion. MONEY is the reason a lot of people serve in the church. You cannot Serve God and Mammon MATT 6:24. You don’t know how much of God You have in You until you can fund your Temptation. With 1 Million in your hands will you still be in the sanctuary unit? Or Security.

   THE EFFECTIVE KINGDOM SERVICE

4. ACCOUNTABLE: (TO GOD & MAN) This will make you live right. This is the problem of our generation, a lot of youths don’t want to be controlled and monitored, we want to be free. Activity can be accounted for carnality when you are not doing it according to the will of God. Matt 7 22 – 23 – Jesus Christ recognized them as Workers, and with results, i.e RESULTS ALONE DON’T VALIDATE YOUR HEART POSTURE.
   When the disciples needed Stewards, they went for men of reputable lifestyles ACTS 6: 2- 3

5. DEFENDER OF FAITH / COMMISSION: GEN 18:9 – Can God trust your stand in the face of trials and tribulations? JOB was a Defender of His Faith. All the Days of My Appointed time will I wait until my change comes. When some of us hear things that are contrary to the Word. we begin to reason it out.
6. OBIDIENT TO GOD’S INSTRUCTION – Job 36:11 Your responsibility is to receive and implement the word.
7. WORSHIPPER – PROV. 3 5-6, Giving Reverence To God In All Your Ways in Truth and In Spirit. If I be Lifted Up I will draw all Men To me JOHN 12: 26
