Early Life

Dunsin Oyekan was born on Monday, the 5th of November, 1984 in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He grew up as the only son of his parents.

His father, Pastor Gbadebo Oyekan was one of the initiators of Pentecostal move in the nation and also the leader of “Spiritual Singers”, a music group in Ilorin.

His dad had a major influence on his choice of music, songwriting and playing of instruments.

In fact, he wanted him to study Music at University, but it couldn’t become a reality due to some reasons.

Being a lover of Gospel music, Dunsin’s father usually takes him together to series of musical concerts and other related Christian events.

It was also gathered that Minstrel Dunsin started playing the guitar as early as 10 years of age. When Dunsin was yet a little younger, his father said prophetically that He could see the dead coming back to life through him.

However, Dunsin’s father died on Monday, the 30th of March, 2015 – an experience he described as the most excruciating event in his life.

Education

Dunsin Oyekan attended the Airforce Nursery and Primary School, Ilorin, and then proceeded to the prestigious Federal Government College (FGC), Ilorin. He completed his secondary education at the Baptist Model High School, Ilorin. He later gained admission into the University of Ilorin, Ilorin where he graduated as an Industrial Chemist.

Ministry

Dunsin Oyekan was a one-time Music Director (MD) of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) in Ilorin, Kwara State. Then he moved to COZA ABUJA where he continued with Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo until he left the commission.

However, he currently acknowledges Dr Pastor Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis Int’l Gospel Centre, Worldwide as his spiritual father. They have both shared platforms at various times.

Also, He has several platforms with which he reaches out with the Gospel. To start with, He is the organizer of the Healing Room Worship Event, the Code Red Worship Concert, the Victory Tour and many other musical concerts which takes place annually.

Marital Relationship

Dunsin Oyekan got married to his classmate at the University of Ilorin, Adedoyin on the 2nd of February, 2013. The marriage is blessed with two children.

Unfortunately, his wife, Adedoyin Oyekan died on Saturday, 18th of May, 2019. Dunsin Oyekan has taken this great shock in good faith trusting God for a better future.

Inspiration

In a recent interview, Dunsin Oyekan revealed that his greatest fulfilment is “Seeing Jesus lifted up”, which is the major reason why he focuses on revealing Jesus Christ to all mankind in all his ministrations.
