Height is measured from the Peak (highest point) to the base (ground level), without the ground level, the height of anything can not be determined. The more the height the more the depth. Life is made up of principles and laws that cannot be broken or neglected. These principles are made by God Almighty, and revealed to or discovered by man. 

“And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.” (2 Kings 19:30 KJV)

Everyone can see and admire a gigantic skyscraper but think less about the foundation it is built on.  Although, the foundation is what keeps it upright and standing. Only a builder sees the skyscraper and the foundation first comes to mind. This is how life works, people see the result, achievement, reward, award, prize but tend to neglect the corresponding price paid to get it.

In the University, every ace in an exam is a cumulation of sleepless nights of study, discipline, time management, resourcefulness, endurance, hard work and more. All together summed up in having a distinction in a chosen field of Discipline.

The award-giving day reveals the inputs of the various students to the course of study. Every student’s height in the grade ladder is a reflection of how deep their preparations were. The deeper the preparation, the higher the result. 

The secret of high flyers in the University is that they go deep in their studies and preparations. You cannot envy the result if you know nothing about the process. .The process is what makes the result valid,    

This principle exceeds the four walls of an institution and governs life in general. The tree that stands taller than the rest has a deeply rooted foundation (root) that makes it durable and dogged come rain come shine.  The stability of a tree is a result of the ruggedity of its root. Mat 4: 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.  Without a solid root, the tree will not stand the test of time.

Understanding The ‘Depth Of Height’

You want to be up there, don’t be in a hurry to fly, get a solid foundation, Every height is a result of the corresponding depth. The deeper the knowledge of a man the higher he goes up the grade ladder. Without a solid root, you don’t stand the chance to bear fruit. 

Even when a tree is cut down if the root is intact it will sprout up again. 

Job 14: 7 For there is hope for a tree if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease.

The importance of a solid foundation can never be overemphasized.  But, it’s important to know that if the root is compromised the tree will eventually fall.  Every desirable prize has a corresponding Price that comes with it.

Whatever seems good has a worth attached to it, and only those worthy can acquire it.  

 Ask yourself, are you that deeply rooted in that field,  to achieve that height of your dreams??  The aeroplane flying started the process of getting up there from the ground
