The Upper Room Daily Devotional For Today 16 December 2021 – The Work of the Spirit Mayerling Moreno Valdiris (Miranda, Venezuela)

TOPIC: The Work of the Spirit Mayerling Moreno Valdiris (Miranda, Venezuela)

John 14:15-26

KEY VERSE: Jesus said, “The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” – John 14:26 (NIV)

We are grateful, God, for the Holy Spirit, who inspires us to open our minds, our eyes, and our hearts to follow where you lead. Amen.

The Holy Spirit helps me bear the fruit of God’s word.

Bible study groups

When I enrolled in the Bible academy, I had the feeling that along the way I would forget what I had been taught. I had this same feeling when I attended small study groups or listened to sermons that had special meaning for me. I prayed that God would allow me to treasure and remember what I had learned.

Later on I took part in another study group based on the characteristics of a Christian disciple. That study helped me to understand that it is not necessary to overburden our minds with copious information we have heard or studied. It is not solely by our own efforts that God’s word takes root and bears fruit in our lives but through the work of the Holy Spirit.
